Parker & Son Go the Distance for Out of The Blue Running Event 

Parker & Son proudly took part in the Out of The Blue 10K and 5K on Thursday 25th June to show their support for the local community.

The Battle-based construction company was the main sponsor of the event for the second year. Members of the team completed the 10K despite the warm weather, demonstrating their commitment to supporting the event

James Parker, Managing Director at Parker & Son, said: “It was a privilege to once again sponsor this fantastic community event for a second consecutive year. Despite taking place on one of the hottest day of the year, we were incredibly proud to see members of our team lace up their running shoes, brave the challenging temperatures and join hundreds of participants in support of vital charities dedicated to suicide prevention and support.

“The determination and community spirit shown by everyone involved was inspiring and we’re delighted that this year’s event raised such an impressive amount of money for these important causes. Supporting initiatives that make a real difference to people’s lives is something we’re passionate about and we’re honoured to play a part in helping these charities continue their invaluable work. A huge congratulations and thank you to Out of The Blue who organised the fantastic event.”

The successful run was around the beautiful grounds of Ashburnham Place and raised an impressive £5674.87. The run was organised by Out Of The Blue who is a fundraising body established in memory of Will Becket that raises money for four registered charities. All the money raised will go to the chosen charities that helped Will’s family and friends in the aftermath of his death: Winston’s Wish, Dragonflies, CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably) and Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team.
