Parker & Son Construction is very pleased to be one of the major sponsors at this year’s Windmill Hill Horticultural Society’s (WHHS) Flower Show.

Parker & Son always prides itself on supporting local events and likes to give back to the community when it can.
Managing Director of Parker & Son James Parker said: “We’re incredibly proud to support local events that bring people together and celebrate our community. The Windmill Hill Flower Show is a wonderful example of a long-standing tradition that has been enjoyed by generations, and we’re delighted to play a small part in helping it continue to thrive. As a local business, we believe in giving back wherever we can. Sponsoring events like this is one way we can support the people and places that have supported us over the years. We hope everyone has a fantastic day celebrating this special community event.”
The historical flower show (which began in 1884) is a festival of food, flowers and photos from the local community. The event caters to all – anyone can enter the competition. You don’t need to be an expert, bring whatever you’ve grown in your garden that you’re proud of or make a cake if baking is your strength. There are also classes for children to enter as well as handicrafts to keep them entertained.
The event is being held August 1st at Reid Hall. It runs from 2pm to 4pm and is just £2 entry with children going free.
Chairman of the WHHS Gill Blunden said: “We are very grateful to Parker & Son and all our other sponsors for helping to keep this local tradition going, and hope lots of people will enter whatever they grow in their garden, make in their home or picture on their walks!”
