Parker & Son to Sponsor Out Of The Blue Fundraiser

For the second year, Parker & Son is the main sponsor for this year’s Out Of The Blue 10K & 5K.

Parker & Son sponsored the run last year, with members of the team taking part in the race. The company is very excited to be supporting this important event once again. James Parker, Managing Director of Parker & Son, said: “Supporting this event means a great deal to us as a family run business rooted in this community. Causes like suicide aid and prevention are incredibly important, and we’re proud to stand behind the vital work these charities do. It’s been inspiring to see members of our own team stepping up to take part in the run as well – it really reflects the spirit of care and togetherness we value. We hope our support helps raise both awareness and much-needed funds for such a crucial cause.”

The twilight race takes you through the beautiful grounds at Ashburnham Place. The multi-terrain course starts and finishes in the same location and takes you around the lakes within the grounds. The event is celebrating its 11th year and caters to all running abilities with a 5K, 10K (two laps of the course) and a junior run. For spectators, there are tents to peruse and a delicious BBQ for runners and supporters to get stuck into. 

With every pound of the pavement (or trail in this case), runners will also be raising valuable funds for amazing charities. Out Of The Blue is a fundraising body established in memory of Will Becket that raises money for four registered charities.

The four chosen charities helped Will’s family and friends in the aftermath of his tragic death: Winston’s Wish is a child bereavement charity that offers free, accessible online grief support to children and young people (aged 25 or under) across the UK. Dragonflies provides free support to children aged 5 to 18 and their families who are experiencing pre or post bereavement. CALM (The Campaign Against Living Miserably) is a suicide prevention charity which offers life-saving support for anyone affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts. Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team is a frontline charity which provides compassionate support to people in crisis at Beachy Head. Each one of these charities is a vital lifeline for those suffering suicidal thoughts or families and friends dealing with grief after losing someone to suicide.

The race takes place on Thursday 25th June at Ashburnham Place, Battle, East Sussex. The event begins at 6:30pm (with the 5K and 10K commencing at 7pm). You can purchase your ticket for the event here.
